[Aurora can feel every bump the carriage hits as they pass through the desert. It doesn't help her nerves, her hand tightening on the hilt of her sword. When she was first told she had a very important mission, never in her life would she have expected this. Sure the lalafell had dedicated her life to the Sultana, but she had accepted she may never personally meet her.
But now... they're traveling in the same carriage. Aurora can't even look her in the eyes. Even in the most dangerous missions, she had never felt this nervous before. Her armor felt heavier than usual. She was trying to shake it off though; this mission was very important after all.
They were trying to be subtle with not to draw attention to the Sultana traveling. An airship would be faster of course, but way more noticable. Even the General wasn't coming; though he would come to meet them in Gridania later. He had some things to work on, and the Sultana couldn't wait any longer.
So here they were: Aurora Rora, the Sultana, and every gods damn bump in the road. Hopefully the rest of the mission would be smooth...]
[While Nanamo had few illusions about stepping outside of the city, it was because it was usually done in secret. Travel for the Sultana was a dangerous thing, factoring in bandits, evil corrupt members of the syndicate, syndicate assassins, and others.
Lolorito had a vested interest in keeping her alive, for how long she had no qualms about pushing. But the guard was a personal friend, along with the carriage driver who had been said to aid the warrior.]
We are making good time, [said Nanamo in a conversational tone.] We should reach the Twelveswood in no time. Pray, come sit by me.
[Aurora glances up at her quickly and gives a stiff nod.] Y-Yes, Your Grace. [She can't help but feel nervous as she moves to sit next to her. The lalafell tries so hard to not let her nerves show; how can the Sultana feel safe if her guard is so fidgety?]
Are you doing well, Your Grace? Do you need anything?
I should be asking you the same. You seem restless. I daresay it isn't because of an imminent attack.
[the Sultana smiled, and despite her disguise, seemed at ease with speaking at a level with her Paladins of a more friendly level. Come, Papashan has packed a dinner, and we are already nearing the Eastern reaches. We can break for lunch.
Felih has a bit of a penchant for being far too familiar and friendly with people he should, perhaps, act with a bit more propriety towards, but once this cat considers you a friend, it's hard for him to go back to formalities.
So he can't help but just hop down from his perch in the Chamber of Rule, having slipped past the usual guard to just grin and chirp at her in greeting.
"Nanamo! Thank the gods I found you quickly," he says with a laugh. "Sorry to drop in without warning, but I need a bit of your input on something, if you've the time."
Felih grins at her and laughs, tail twitching. "No, no, not in trouble this time, I promise," he purrs, settling down on a nearby step, ears wiggling playfully at her.
"It's good stuff. It's Raubahn- you know. He's settling back in Ala Mhigo, and he's going to be so important in helping build it back up, but- you know, I figured it'd be nice to get him a celebratory gift. Something that says 'welcome home!' or maybe 'congratulations on guiding Gyr Abania to freedom'! Something cheesy and all to commemorate it all."
He tilts his head. "But, y'know, I'm not super close with Raubahn like some of the others are, so I figured maybe you'd be the best person to ask since you've known him so long: what kindsa stuff does he like? I mean, I trust him with my life, but hells if I even know what his favorite color is."
"His favorite color is black and gold," replied Nanamo automatically, as she smiled. "Yes, a present would be nice. Something simple, not lavish. He was never one for flaunting his wealth, but something to remind him that he is loved."
"A painting commissioned of him and his son perhaps," said Nanamo. "General Pipin would be most amused to pose for it, and we certainly have images of Raubahn. Or if that isn't formal enough, send him a delicious fruit basket."
"Black and gold..." Felih muses over this, head already racing with ideas. He's a goldsmith, a weaver, and he's already wondering, perhaps jewelry? But no, Nanamo says he's not one for finery and wealth. Perhaps lovely attire? Would that be too ostentatious?
"AS for the fruit... Though I have no doubt that he would enjoy a fruit basket, somehow a commemorative fruit basket for such grand accomplishments seems comical..." he laughs, covering his grin with a hand.
"A painting! What a wonderful idea! Haha, but if we do that, I should wish to include you too," Felih says with a smile. "After all, he did always seem to see you as a daughter, in many ways, and his care and loyalty to you has not faded in the slightest," he chirps in delight, tail wiggling in excitement.
Nanamo sputtered for a moment before sighing deeply. "Well, if that is what would make him happy, I suppose we can do that. The painting would have to be done in a sitting however, General Pipin's duties are important. I will call for a painter immediately."
She considered it for a moment and added, "Felih, you are a goldsmith are you not? You should make the frame."
Felih lights up, tail suddenly quivering in delight as he considers this. "Wonderful! Then, we can go about making the arrangements. You and Pipin will sit for the portrait- and I will go about smithing a properly ornate frame for it. Let's see, gold is simple enough, but the stones... black pearls, onyx, obsidian? So much to choose from for the accents of black..."
"I will call General Pipin, I am certain he has a bell and a half worth of time to sit for a painting, especially one for his father." said Nanamo as she picked up a bell and rang for her attendant.
Once informed, she turned to Felih and smiled. "There, it is settled. He will be here within the bell."
[[Piñara is an Ul'Dahn merchant born and bred, but at this point, Nanamo is far more like a younger sister to the WoL than intimidating royalty. She maybe takes far too many Liberties with the Sultana and her spaces - but well. What would you do with your ever loyal Warrior?]]
[Depends on what happens if the Warrior tends to be a derp. That being said, she would probably just make sure they were not bored. A bored warrior is a destructive warrior.]
"Ahh, what is sleep when I heard you needed me?" She grins lopsidedley. There's only a slightly crazed look about her, but then again, Pinya is always like this.
"I caught a few winks on the Airship from Kugane." She reassures. Maybe only one wink, and she doesn't remember winking, but it was still a wink.
That was fine, and she nodded for a moment. "I need your aid on some important matters. With the reconstruction in Ala Mhigo, I need someone such as yourself to give me advice on the further work. If you don't mind. I'll also ensure you are well paid for your work."
