"You need not pay me for services I would happily render, my friend." She makes enough coin adventuring and through her family's business that she isn't in need of reimbursement.
Nanamo nodded, knowing she'll just turn payment into another matter entirely later on.
"I've been suggested by Lord Lolorito that treating the populace is not the same as charity. Fruits and vegetables need to be given as a gift from the allied companies in lieu of a charitable donation. At the same time, we are to foster growth in the national food. Tell me, what would be a good crop to grow in the soil of Ala Mhigo?"
"Can you imagine how Charity would go down in Ul'Dah, Nana?" She grins.
"Lest of all, most of these citizens don't believe that charity is charity. There's always a catch."
Pinya takes a sip of her coffee and hums.
"Coffee beans and Sugarcane are both things that we produce in Thanalan, but not really to abundance, mostly because we haven't seen them as necessities in a long, long time.
We also need something more accessible to the masses, but I'm not simply talking Popotoes. Root vegetables do the best around Thanalan because the heat makes growing leaves difficult; Ginseng, Carrots, Parsnips, and Garlic will be able to survive easily too!
This ensures that they have crops for both sustenance and profit. The Sugarcane and Coffee will do well in the Summer, meaning that they will be able to turn a profit and not worry so much about the Autumn harvest, which will still see them a steady income, but with enough sustenance and flavour should keep them going. With, of course, some nutritional Greens and fruits from La Nocscea and the Shroud!" She becomes more animated as she talks about a field she knows well.
Pinya is nothing if not a bit of a Botany nerd. It was, after all, her primary trade before she became an Adventurer.
"T'would be a riot, as Lord Godbert implied." remarked Nanamo with a deep sigh. "They wouldn't at that. Which is why we must disguise our gift as simply a gift, lest they get suspicious of charitable aid."
"And this is why I came to you first," said Nanamo, relieved that the research had been done pre-emptively. "They are all fine vegetables and if we can commission a trade in order for resources, we may very well yet wring the profit from the rest of Ala Mhigo."
Piñara hates admitting that Lolorito is ever right. She huffs.
"That must've pained you to say that as much as it hurt me to hear it." She mumbles in earshot.
"But yes, should all fair well then we should be up and running within the month. I can start heading, if you'd like, but if you want to keep this strictly under your jurisdiction, I won't get the Scions involved." She smiles
"As much as I hate working with Lolorito, he has yet to steer anything wrong," admitted Nanamo. "Our efforts in reconstruction on the Saltery has created an amazing profit margin. One I loathe to admit that I wouldn't have thought of at all."
"Nay, you may inform the scions just in case. In fact, a third party might actually be more well received than the Ul'dah government as a gift."
"Right you are, Sultana." She manages through a sigh.
"Okay, I'll get Lyse on the job. I don't trust her with planting, but she can pretty herself up enough that the majority of Ala Mhigo is receptive to the idea, that will certainly work in our favour."
She finishes the last of the sweet milky coffee.
"Hell, they'll be able to grow new breeds of Coffee out in their desert. I wonder what flavours we'll get?" She muses. "If we can make one flavour profile associated with each part of Ala Mhigo, it would certainly allow for tourism in the Bar and Drinks industry.... Maybe the Mandervilles would be willing to help test it out. I'll see if any of my siblings would be interested. I know my Father will be."

"What can I assist you with?"
