beneath the stars It's been a week since our newest expansion officially launched! And, I know, I know... some of you already have a lot of feelings that you need to air out. But canon updating in your games is a struggle! And so is finding PSL partners! Luckily, that's what we're here for. This is a post for you to play out all the Shadowbringers-related content you might be dying to write. Behind-the-scenes nonsense? Between-the-scenes angst? It's all welcome here! 1. He waves her off. "No, no, if you say you could I'll believe you. What purpose would lying to me about that serve, after all? Now, about this...truth beam?"

Oh right, that.

"It was a culmination of what I had learned about myself, the bonds I had forged since gaining the power, and the ability to see the truth clearly that I was able to release that power."

Putting her hands under her head, she keeps her gaze upward.

"You see, Izanami, the death goddess, decided to give three people the ability to awaken their personas to see what was humanity's wish: each representing an aspect: Emptiness, Despair, and Hope. Whoever had the strongest aspect, she would grant humanity's desire according to that.

And no, Hope was not winning until me and my friends challenged her and proved her wrong. Or rather me. She...kind of dragged them to Hell first."

This all sounds alarmingly familiar and, frankly, Emet-Selch is not sure he approves of someone even vaguely similar to him existing away from the Source.

"What was winning?"

[holdmystabber]

"Emptiness was. Funny how it works in a sleepy little town in Japan. No one would know that the fate of the world rested in those who were staying there."

And it's probably a good idea not to share how most got their personas or anything involving Liminal Space. Yua does not want to give him ideas.

Huh. "And that, dear hero, is what we call tipping the scales. That death god of yours knew exactly what she was doing."

[holdmystabber]

"Probably. I never could understand the mindset of one. She did congratulate me once I beat her. Even if it's painful and you have to run through hellfire to do it, hope only dies if you allow to."

Shrugging as she sits upright this time.

"I'll save the 'Hope Is Everything' speech because even I know it get tedious and annoying at times."

[angeloftruth]

"And that puts you malms ahead of every other hero the worlds have ever seen," he retorts. "Thank you."

[holdmystabber]

"I just don't think it's the right place or time for it. I know I can be a pain in the ass but I do know when to hold off."

Yua cannot condone Emet's deeds but she can understand the feeling of loss...of loneliness to an extent. But living in the past for so long...like an endless dream...she is reminded of Lakshimi and her dreamers. Care not for reality or truth but the fog before them. A bliss wrapped in lies. No wonder why Yua was extremely vocal against that primal.

"Is there ever time or a place for it?"

[holdmystabber]

"When it feels needed. But that's just me."

It's weird but just the two of them sitting outside and simply talking without a threat of the world ending, anyone passing by would not think them as sworn enemies. Just two people having a somewhat pleasant conversation. And one being a bit of a troll.

[angeloftruth]

"And when, exactly, are those inane speeches ever needed?"

[holdmystabber]

"It's more of an emotional thing. I'm certainly not someone who goes into a fight prepared with a speech."

As the kids say...YOLO.

[angeloftruth]

"No, I think that would be the young Elezen boy with with you," he mutters. "Or his sister. One of the two of them."

[holdmystabber]

Yua can't help but grin at the thought of the twins.

"Alphinaud is the more political one with a way with words. Alisaie is more than likely the type to punch someone in their nethers so...sounds about right."

[angeloftruth]

"And yet it was the girl who attempted to give me a verbal what for."

[holdmystabber]

"So would you prefer words or a dick punch?"

They all did. Yua just went with a short phrase and proving it.

[angeloftruth]

"Neither one affects me, as it turns out, so I don't really care either way."

[holdmystabber]

"But what if it did. Which would you prefer? Humor me for a minute."

[angeloftruth]

This certainly is a conversation he's having.

"Does it really matter?"

[holdmystabber]

She shrugs.

"Do we have anything pressing right now?"

[angeloftruth]

"No, but I'm not going to dignify that with an answer."

[holdmystabber]

Yua sighs and shrugs but there's a bit of a smile on her face so she isn't upset clearly. And then her face becomes more serious.

"Alright alright, fair enough. But I do have another question: have you ever felt pain?"

[angeloftruth]

He snorts. "Obviously. I have a physical body, don't I?"

[holdmystabber]

"Well, I didn't know if despite being an ascian if you felt it even in a physical form. It was you who said to remember and I can't fully if it's one sided."

Now she's looking at him because they are adults somewhat.

"I intend to keep my word."

[angeloftruth]

"If I have a physical form, I will feel pain. And, believe it or not, most of us do prefer them. Less work."

He doesn't say anything about remembering. It was a moment of weakness. No need to bring it up again.
