beneath the stars It's been a week since our newest expansion officially launched! And, I know, I know... some of you already have a lot of feelings that you need to air out. But canon updating in your games is a struggle! And so is finding PSL partners! Luckily, that's what we're here for. This is a post for you to play out all the Shadowbringers-related content you might be dying to write. Behind-the-scenes nonsense? Between-the-scenes angst? It's all welcome here! 1. Yua can't help but grin at the thought of the twins.

"Alphinaud is the more political one with a way with words. Alisaie is more than likely the type to punch someone in their nethers so...sounds about right."

"And yet it was the girl who attempted to give me a verbal what for."

"So would you prefer words or a dick punch?"

They all did. Yua just went with a short phrase and proving it.

[angeloftruth]

"Neither one affects me, as it turns out, so I don't really care either way."

[holdmystabber]

"But what if it did. Which would you prefer? Humor me for a minute."

[angeloftruth]

This certainly is a conversation he's having.

"Does it really matter?"

[holdmystabber]

She shrugs.

"Do we have anything pressing right now?"

[angeloftruth]

"No, but I'm not going to dignify that with an answer."

[holdmystabber]

Yua sighs and shrugs but there's a bit of a smile on her face so she isn't upset clearly. And then her face becomes more serious.

"Alright alright, fair enough. But I do have another question: have you ever felt pain?"

[angeloftruth]

He snorts. "Obviously. I have a physical body, don't I?"

[holdmystabber]

"Well, I didn't know if despite being an ascian if you felt it even in a physical form. It was you who said to remember and I can't fully if it's one sided."

Now she's looking at him because they are adults somewhat.

"I intend to keep my word."

[angeloftruth]

"If I have a physical form, I will feel pain. And, believe it or not, most of us do prefer them. Less work."

He doesn't say anything about remembering. It was a moment of weakness. No need to bring it up again.

"So even immortals can be pushed to an extent if that's the case."

Nope, she will not let you forget it.

[angeloftruth]

"Obviously we can. What, did you think our bodies as tireless as our souls?"

[holdmystabber]

"Better to hear it directly than assume."

[angeloftruth]

Emet just rolls his eyes and shrugs. "Yes, we can feel pain. We can even feel tired and hungry until we adjust to our physical form. Anything else?"

For anyone lurking, this is a Big Spoiler. You've been warned!

She nods because there's still another question burning within. Putting her hand under her chin, Yua proceeds to ask what she wants to know and without teasing.

"How did you come back? While I know you can pull those who are in the Lifestream out but what about yourself? And considering..." She leaves the sentence as such because it's a bad idea to explicitly say that. Not only that but who would be strong enough to do so if it was not him who did?

Emet-Selch just shrugs, shaking his head. "I haven't the faintest idea. I am considerably weaker now and unable to change bodies, but here I am. Alive one last time."

[holdmystabber]

Someone even the great ascian doesn't know? Or withholding information? But then again, if it was a comrade, Yua can only assume that it cannot because why would Emet-Selch be here instead of with the summoner? Was it a fluke?

Yua is lost in her thoughts for a moment but then remembers that the asshole troll is still there so she should probably keep talking.

"Er, how weak do you mean?"

And please whatever power is up there, do not make this some kind of mission where she has to play bodyguard. 90% chance that it will end with her getting dragged in but it's a Tuesday for the Warrior of Balance.

"And what now?"

[angeloftruth]

"I can't do much of what I could previously. Believe me, I tried, and that is how I ended up as you found me--overexertion. For an Ascian." He scoffs. "Disgusting."

[holdmystabber]

Ok so that was because he exhausted himself? Yua cannot help herself as a snicker escaped her lips, picturing him trying a spell and falling down.

"Even you can have bad days it seems."

[angeloftruth]

"Of course I can. I'm alive, aren't I?"

[holdmystabber]

"Alive again it seems. But even so, what's going to happen now?"

Is he going to try and contact his comrades? Will he try reaching Garlemald and keep up the war? Will he still be trying for the Rejoining?

[angeloftruth]

He shrugs. "I haven't the faintest. It's no longer my place."

[holdmystabber]

"...first time figuring out what to do?"

She can't simply assume after all. But what can she do about it? He doesn't sound keen to go back to his former country or maybe...

"I guess you can call it a fresh start."
