[tends to wander but usually remembers her linkpearl these days! She's fine. Pretty cheerful and resilient, mostly a monk with some dark knight leanings and arcanist training, although she mostly fusses around with her carbuncle. Does make things and gather, a bit.]
That's when she's not slaving away under the Thanalan sun with a sickle to find little shards of fire-aspected crystals in the bushes. She loves Limsa like the home she never had, but even if the Bismarck was in need of extra fuel for its ovens on short notice she wishes she hadn't been there to hear the request. Slaying fire sprites would be much easier - but too slow.
She slumps to her knees with a dramatic sigh after clearing the branches of any fire shards she could find.]
[She takes the fact that her companion has broken from their task as permission to take a proper break, herself, and takes a long swig of water from a flask. Then she rubs one of the patches of scales on her face, grumbling indistinctly. They are dry and itchy. The rest of her skin sweats just fine...]
A goal is nice; I prefer having fun on the way there.
They're fine, they're fine- [she waves the hand she was scratching them with dismissively, then goes back to get that one last spot where it meets her jaw,] -they just itch. It happens when they dry out. A bit of oil or lotion is all they need.
[She stretches, rolls her shoulders, sore from the repetitive task. Gods, she hates botany.]
A race might be distracting. I wonder what stories you would have to tell?
[She'd be right. It's the same sort of product used to soothe dry skin in any other race. If the guild keeps sending her to Thanalan or Coerthas though, she may just have to buy her usual vendors clean out.]
Oh, are we combining the two, then?
[A challenge, she'll take, and the idea of it puts a spark in her eyes.]
"Ro! Ro! No- hey! Ro, leave her alone!" Felih's voice comes calling from the distance, and comes just before K'pandolu will find a rather big ruby carbuncle suddenly shuffling around her legs, hopping up to paw at her arms and yip, demanding. It's the size of a goblin, and with it standing on its hind legs to paw at her arms, it's actually quite big-seeming.
"Ro," as the carbuncle seems to be called, whines at K'pandolu and noses at her basket. He smells food!
"Ro! Seven hells!" Felih is still several yalms away, though he's closing the gap quickly enough.
"Ah!" K'pandolu startles for a moment- and then grins, squatting to be able to reach out to the ruby carbuncle better. Her emerald carbuncle comes over to sniff at this newcomer, curious. "Gosh, you're big, aren't you? You must be very loved."
And of course she has treats- as she goes to get two out, one for each of the carbuncles. (Otherwise, it's unfair, right?)
She looks up, finally, offering Felih a little grin. "Ah- is this fine fellow yours?"
The ruby is delighted for the attention, preening and puffing up, chirping and practically wiggling its tails to be extra cute. Look at me, look~ Look at my cute, the motions seem to say, the creature looking up with big wide eyes and begging for a treat.
And of course, once Ro gets it, the carbuncle is yipping happily and eating it right up, circling around K'pandolu's legs like a very very big and happy cat.
Felih, meanwhile, has finally caught up, panting just slightly before groaning. "Yeah, he's mine. Sorry about him, he loves food. He'll chase it at even the scent," he explains, before trying to heft up his big carbuncle. "This is Rolanberry. He's a troublemaker, despite my best efforts to keep him in line..." he admits sheepishly.
"He's adorable," K'pandolu says, clearly charmed. "I'm sure there are worse things for him to chase- and he doesn't store them away for later, I hope? That can get messy. Spring here's tried that a few times." She gives the emerald a little scratch, though.
She gives Rolanberry a little smile. "Well, you're trying not to look it, at least, aren't you? How many ladies have you charmed with that look?"
"No, the little fireball eats them as soon as he can so he doesn't risk someone taking them away," Felih explains, sighing a little as he reaches out to heft up the big carbuncle. "I've no idea why he's such a rascal. Coral is even bigger than he is and so very well-behaved, and Aqua is so little and prim and proper you'd never catch her with her paw in trouble."
Rolanberry, meanwhile, continues to sport his ever-innocent look even as Felih hefts him up, and he yips and give little chirps at K'pandolu, still apparently trying to ham it up.
Felih cracks a wry smile. "Oh, he loves attention. He'll turn on that charm for anyone who might give him treats or some pets."
"A very workable tactic," K'pandolu agrees- though she gives Rolanberry a curious look. "I can't imagine he needed to worry about that, though- surely?" Especially with the way Felih describes the others! She makes a little surprised sound. "Coral's bigger- how big? I'm amazed already!"
K'pandolu is absolutely a softie, and reaching out to try and scritch behind Rolanberry's ears. "I can only think it works a lot of the time!"
Felih laughs a little. "Would you like to meet him? Coral is quite the friendly sort. They all are," he says. "He's quite impressive- his job is to guard and distract opponents from the rest of the team, so 'tis good he's so large. It attracts their attention," he says. "If Ro here is about the size of a wolf, then, Coral is perhaps around the size of a coeurl."
Rolanberry, meanwhile, is purring and yipping in delight, leaning so eagerly into the ear scritches that it actually makes Felih stumble forwards as he's trying to hold his carbuncle back. "R-Rolanberry...!" he stammers, fumbling before deciding to just give in and let the creature go, allowing Rolanberry to nyoom right back over to snuggle on K'pandolu.
"Ah... there he goes. He's smitten." Felih sighs in exasperation mixed with amusement. "You'll spoil him," he laughs.
K'pandolu perks up, her tail curling. "I'd love to! So he's the protective one, is he?" She looks at Rolanberry with wide eyes, considering the ruby carbuncle's size, and imagining one coeurl-sized in his place. "He'd be very hard to carry, then," she says, a little faintly.
Rolanberry is very large, and K'pandolu makes a half-startled, half-delighted sound when he comes over to start snuggling again. She strokes one hand down Rolanberry's back, and grins at Felih. "Well- I'm sure he deserves it! At least a little bit."
Felih grins then, puffing up proudly. "That he is- quite the protective one. Give me just a moment," he says, starting his work on the summoning spell- and then, in a big burst, Coral appears and stretches across the ground, looking rather easy-going. The bright topaz carbuncle sniffs around curiously before yipping at K'pandolu as if greeting her, although he seems content to just sit down where he is instead of compete for attention.
Rolanberry, meanwhile, continues to snuggle up to K'pandolu for more attention, purring and yipping happily at all the affection.
"He's a spoiled thing- carbuncles are unfairly cute by virtue of their design, and Ro has simply learned how to use such a thing to his advantage..."
K'pandolu makes a startled sound, sitting up straight, and holds a hand out for Coral if he'd like after a moment. "You are a big fellow, aren't you?" she murmurs. "No wonder you're the protector- the others could probably all curl on you, hm?"
She rumbles happily, stroking behind his ears. "They really are too charming," she agrees. "Though- that's clever of him, don't you think?"
Coral is purring, chirping and yipping happily at being praised, leaning against her hand happily, fluffy cheek pressing into her palm as his tails wiggle in contentment. Rolanberry, meanwhile, is whining for more pets, pawing at K'pandolu's hip.
Felih just snorts. "It's clever, yes- but Twelve, he likes to use his looks for evil... Sometimes I have to scold him because he'll have stolen sweets away from someone he charmed and distracted." He's already halfway through the next summoning spell, and in moments, there's a third carbuncle among them.
The emerald carbuncle is rather petite compared to Rolanberry and Coral, maybe reaching up to Felih's knee when she was standing, but she sits prim and proper, grooming herself with a paw before she stands and struts up to Rolanberry, swatting at him with a little paw and making the red carbuncle whine and stop insistently pawing at K'pandolu's hip.
"And that's Aqua. She's very well behaved- won't put a paw out of line. And she's very good at keeping Rolanberry behaving, too," Felih says with a grin.
K'pandolu makes a happy sound in turn, scritching behind Coral's ears. He's very charming as well! And she does have a second hand she can pat Rolanberry with- it's not a bad way to occupy oneself, if she says so herself.
She gives Felih a little wry smile. "Well- it shows he can learn. And- at least it's sweets?" Seeing the third carbuncle be summoned, K'pandolu lets out an impressed whistle, watching the emerald carbuncle approach.
"She's very dignified," she agrees. "And it's good that he'll listen, hm? I'm sure he's no trouble with you around, Aqua. It's a pleasure to meet all of you!" She reaches to offer Aqua a hand. "I think this is quite impressive, too," she remarks.
