[ Is that a laugh from the injured man? It is. But it's clearly a friendly one - the enthusiasm of his dear brother is something that Haurchefant needs right now. If he could, he'd close his eyes again - but Haurchefant still feared that he would not open them again. ]

...Water sounds splendid.

[ He eventually allowed himself to say, as the knight began to shift slightly. So that he could keep an eye on his younger brother. Though it takes a few moments, a few more words spilled out. ]

But return quickly.

[ A fresh wave of relief washes over Emmanellain upon hearing Haurchefant's laughter and his characteristic manner of speech, not silenced after all. ]

Splendid! [ He agrees, gesturing as Haurchefant no doubt would, if he could. ]

Wait here, then, and I shall return to your side ere you blink!

[ An ambitious promise to keep, and at any other time, Emmanellain could have sent Honoroit in his stead, thereby eliminating the need to leave Haurchefant's side altogether, but traversing the manor halls to the kitchens and back swiftly and quietly is no issue sober. Nevertheless, Haurchefant has to blink a good number of times before Emmanellain reappears, carrying a glass of spring water on a tray. He sets the tray down on the nightstand — and studies Haurchefant in dawning realization. ]

Can you... sit up?

[ Hold a glass of water? Drink it unaided? Suppose Haurchefant were to choke on his water... Murdering him even accidentally is rather the opposite of guarding his safety until morning. ]

[ While his brother was gone - it felt like forever for him - Haurchefants' mind had finally begun to clear.

However, when he sees his brother return, he meekly shook his head. ] I fear I cannot. [ He said - for his body still felt stiff and pained. (Well, more numb then pained, but...) Eyes softly closing for a moment - before snapping open again - Haurchefant nodded at his brother. Do as he must - even if they didn't have the best relationship, he trusted him. ]

[ Emmanellain knows, in his heart of hearts, that he is none of the great things he likes to fancy himself, but the worst mess that might come of helping Haurchefant to sit up and drink a sip of water is water spilled and a damp blanket. Bending, he takes Haurchefant by the shoulders. ]

Right, lean against me — we'll have you sitting soon.

[ Once he has a secure hold on his brother, he slides one arm behind Haurchefant, and props Haurchefant's pillow up with his other hand for Haurchefant's back to rest against. Conscious of his brother's still unsettling state, he does his utmost not to aggravate any aches. ]

[ As he sat up, Haurchefant couldn't help but rest more on his brother - slightly flopping onto his side, looking at dear Emmanellain with a softness in his eyes. Sure, he hurt a little - a soft groan parting his lips as he was shifted. He pushes himself backwards with his legs, however - so that he was nice and sat up. ]

...I'd not expected you here.

[ He finally said, as he remained to struggle. ]

[ The groan stirs Emmanellain's concern. He freezes, scrutinizing Haurchefant's expression until he is satisfied that his brother is not near anything to merit alarm. Finally, Haurchefant is propped against his pillow, enough to let him swallow sips of water without choking or pouring it all over his face, and Emmanellain draws back to pick up the glass. ]

To tell the truth, they wouldn't let us see you. You need your rest, too many visitors would only get underfoot, and so forth.

[ For a moment, he grows quiet, looking into the glass of water along the way to bringing it closer to Haurchefant's mouth. ]
