[ Canon implies the WoL literally goes home the day after they all get back from the final battle which is ridiculous so I treat it with a healthy mixture of Adam Savage's "I reject your reality and substitute my own" and Marie Kondo's "if this doesn't bring you joy, throw it out"
Let everyone sleep in a giant hugpile for a week or something it's not like Emet-Selch made them live through the end of the world on top of nearly losing the WoL, nearly being killed multiple times, and having to put so much of their energy into holding one of the most powerful beings in the universe STILL so that he could be killed... then had to swim all the way back. Seriously ]
[ Oh goodness gracious this in spades. Not to mention this WoL is second guessing all she's done for Hydaelyn. And remembers bits and pieces of Amaurot before it all went to hell and oh yeah, she had feelings for Emet-Selch so she lost Hades all over again and this time there's no telling if he's coming back. :')

[ AST/DNC/DRK; uses some other jobs occasionally but wouldn't consider herself to excel at them. somewhat emotionally damaged (what WoL isn't?), a strong empath, and a playful, snarky kind of miqo'te with her friends. lately, enjoys spending time on the First and using the odd flow of time to her advantage. otherwise, mostly enjoys hanging out in her mansion in the Mist, cooking meals for friends, and relaxing on the beach. ]
[WHM/RDM/maybe DRK in future - prickly and moody, but very much a 'jerk with a soft heart' towards people she cares for. Not really one made of gold though, since she's inherently selfish and prefers doing her own thing. Which luckily aligns with fighting primals/Ascians/Garleans and saving the world.

[Revenant's Toll has come a long way since the Scions first settled there, with it now becoming a bustling hub for adventurers and travellers alike. It also means Ironworks has seen business increase, and more than once has the Warrior of Light witnessed Wedge running here, there and everywhere when there's work to be done. And in recent times (mostly due to a bad bought of aether sickness and Palais being confined to the town for once to recover - ) the Warrior of Light has been extending help to them, either errands that the presence of the six foot Viera greatly expedites, or even something simple like making sure they remember their bodily requirements.
Maybe surprisingly to most, she knows how to cook and cook wellthanks to being level 60 culinarian, so food deliveries were also an on-going thing while the Viera recovers. The kindness behind the gesture is obvious, though any thanks only gets her to huff and tell them to hop back to work once they're done. And one certain head of the Ironworks is not spared from this treatment.
So while Cid's elbow-deep in whatever mechanical marvel he's working on, he'll find himself poked in the back with one thermal - with the sight of Palais giving him one of her patent Flat Looks, pale brows raised just slightly.]
Have you even sat down at all today? [It's at least late evening now, so she is concerned. Despite trying to mask it with her usual attitude.]
[ Cid was thankful, as was most, with the food deliveries. Being of an engineering mind, he often times neglected the run of the mill and daily necessities. Also being of an engineering bent, he barely knew how to work a coffee maker even though he sure as all get out knew how to take one apart. Being the influx of travelers and adventures, it seemed that business was booming and of course he was hard at work either at the drawing board or sleeves pushed up and a screwdriver held between his teeth (yes, he knew that it wasn't good for his teeth but to be perfectly honest, if he set it down, he might 'lose' it.).
Luckily though when Palais came into the ironworks, he just had the screwdriver tucked behind his ear. Somewhere Nero was doing god knows what, which of course left him to his own devices-- and of course that meant he was doing some upgrades oh 'Maggie' at this moment. He hadn't climbed anything yet, but he was working on the joints. Really all of the Warrior of Light's equipment of the more magitek kind was subject to upgrades whenever he deemed them necessary.
And really, he considered Maggie a constant work in progress. There was always something new to be installed, perhaps a ceruleum tank for undersea movement, a new coating of anti-rust solvent-- and yes, he'd actually installed a portable orchestrion in the dashboard-- not very practical, but well an engineer was part practical and part possible, no mind to anything else.

Not to mention that when Palais started to prod him, well he wasn't going to argue at all. If the Warrior of Light declared that he must eat, well then eat he must. He wasn't even sure if he ate at any point today-- maybe he did? If he did then it was definitely on autopilot and he barely remembered. ]

[It's a relief that he complies with her demands, the scowl that's usually her permanent expression softening slightly. Only slightly, before a brief smile cracks through at that little remark. Sour her usual demeanor may be, there tends to be brief glimpses under that facade when she's around Scions and select allies.]

[Although she's fairly certain she could lift him and pull him away from work, if need be. The height and strength she has makes it something she could do to most she comes across, really.

But now she can makes sure his attention is on eating, placing down box and thermal on the table, and opening the box - revealing freshly made bread, roasted vegetables and a smaller, sealed, container with some hearty stew. Plus utensils neatly packed in. A filling meal for an engineer who has been hard at work all day.]

He nods in approval and then he goes over to wash his hands at the little sink at the corner of the workshop. After all he was quite sure that if he didn't now, he'd be prodded to do it eventually.
After drying his hands, he headed back and took a seat at one of the benches. Cid surveys the food spread before it with approval and then grins over at Palais-- albeit gratefully as well ]
How do we deserve someone like you who feeds us like this? Certainly I had forgotten about food until the smell of this spread reminded me that I hadn't eaten anything but coffee since breakfaste.
