It's been a week since our newest expansion officially launched! And, I know, I know... some of you already have a lot of feelings that you need to air out. But canon updating in your games is a struggle! And so is finding PSL partners! Luckily, that's what we're here for.

This is a post for you to play out all the Shadowbringers-related content you might be dying to write. Behind-the-scenes nonsense? Between-the-scenes angst? It's all welcome here!

[Hen held her chin, tapping a finger against her cheek.]

I see. [she laughed.] I imagine it must've been hard at first. Can't tell you how many times I struggled to keep my foci from floating away.

I've not seen your combat style before. Something also sharing a homeland with the Exarch?

[She has seen this person fight with a rapier and floating crystal, of course. It's just not at all common anywhere in Norvrandt she's thinking about just now.]

[something about lying to the Guard felt wrong. Even though it wasn't lying so much as omitting the truth]

Blending Light and Dark magicks together to create something new.

[That's cause for a raised brow or two. Anything meddling with Light doesn't sit right in her stomach, no matter who's got their hands in it.]

Something fair destructive enough, if what I've seen tells the whole tale.

[Still, as with most things relating to her dear Exarch, she leaves off questioning deeper into this thing. His mysterious friends get to keep their privacy; she learned her lesson after the first one came through.]

[Hen knows that look well, well enough to sigh with a wry smile.]

I know what you're thinking and I can assure you, the Light I use has no adverse affects. I'd be more than happy to demonstrate if you're still uncertain.

[Lyna tilts her head just so, gaze turning toward the changing guard not far to her left.]

It's about time for another patrol. You can join me, if you've no other business. Perhaps a demonstration won't be necessary.

[The years of walking the roads of Lakeland, chakrams in hand, rest in her eyes to say she knows better than to believe that for an instant.]

Best keep your weapon at the ready.

I've a bell or two to kill.

[She pats at her rapier with an affectionate hand, wry smile never leaving.]

Besides, me an' Alisaie's scores are almost evening out and I'll be damned if I let her beat me.

[Alisaie is one of the Exarch’s feistier guests. Lyna nods her approval and stops to salute the guardsman they pass; when the man salutes back, she nods and starts walking away from the encampment.]

Time was we could spare an amaro or three for a wider, faster patrol.

[Not much time of hers, but she’s heard all the stories, mostly form amaro tamers these days.]

We’ve taken so many losses, and are short new beasts to train besides. These days rides are a prize or a deadly urgency.

[ Hen listens as the captain speaks, eager to learn more about the new world she's come to. ]

I see...Seems like we're on our last legs here hm?

Always are, in one way or another.

[The violet landscape of Lakeland spreads before them; Lyna takes a well trodden path around some tall jutting rocks, eyes and ears alert for sounds of trouble or the shrill whistles of guard signals.]

We’d started running out of hope, too, when you and yours came along.

[ She takes a moment to take the scenery in; the violet trees, blue water...the stagnant golden sky. Hen turns her eyes towards Lyna, a weary smile on her lips. ]

It's what we're here for, reigniting the flame of hope so it may burn ever more.

[ The words feel...odd on her tongue, like a medicine that won't go down no matter how much she swallows. ]

[Lyna doesn’t stop, quite, but she lets one corner of her mouth curl into a smirk and glances over her shoulder.]

I’d hold with that if you sounded more like you believed it yourself. Reservations?

No, I'm simply a bit tired.

[ The best lies were the ones based on truth. In a way, she is tired. It's simply an exhausted soul rather than an exhausted body. So Hen changes the subject. ]

How long have you been Captain here?

[Well, she won't be all too effective against sin eaters if she's too tired. Lyna's certain she's hauling something else around, not exhaustion, but she lets it go. In her experience, all the Exarch's acquaintances are like this in some way. They brought burdens to Norvrandt they can't even make one another understand.]

Years. How many isn't important. They're all the same, or they were, until the last three or so.

[She doesn't mean to lay it on thick that the Exarch's visitors have given them all hope - rather the opposite. What she wants is for Hen and hers to understand what it is they're carrying here.]

[ Hen nods. Three years...about as long as the Scions have been here. She wonders just how much things have changed in between the first summons and the last. But more important, is the Exarch.]

So being the Captain of the Guard, I imagine you work closely with the Exarch correct? What's your read of him?

[ She knows better than to hope, but... ]

[That answer comes easily.]

He's a good man. Easily the best of us.

[Lyna takes one chakram from its loop at her side, not to throw, but to give her hand something to do while she talks.]

All he does, he does for the good of this world and her people. They say it has been so from the moment he arrived. I've never seen anything to suggest otherwise, even when it is clear what he gives can cost him dearly.

[Those moments are her least certain. At times he folds upon himself, as if grieving. He's terrible at hiding how he feels, so he closes himself off in the Ocular so nobody can see - nobody except the captain of his guard.]

[ Hen listens with a soft smile on her face, clearly amused. If she didn't know any better, she'd say there was a bit more than simple loyalty here. ]

Sounds like you hold him in a high regard, not that I could blame you, seems everyone here does.

[ No she isn't going to prod at the sleeping coeurl just yet. Hen's seen those chakrams at work and would rather keep her head on her shoulders. ]

[Lyna won't cut down an ally outright! Though her teasing would be off the mark if she tried it.]

He oversaw the building of the city from nothing. Gave the use of anything people could find in the tower. We have our hope because of him.

[There's a certainty he carries in his steps, at that.]
