shadowbringers
beneath the stars
It's been a week since our newest expansion officially launched! And, I know, I know... some of you already have a lot of feelings that you need to air out. But canon updating in your games is a struggle! And so is finding PSL partners! Luckily, that's what we're here for.

This is a post for you to play out all the Shadowbringers-related content you might be dying to write. Behind-the-scenes nonsense? Between-the-scenes angst? It's all welcome here!

1. Toplevel your character. Include any details you might think are relevant. Or don't. As always, we're not the cops.
2. Reply to other people's top levels!
3. Have fun!

⚔ Please clearly mark all spoilers in your thread subject lines. Clearly indicate whatever spoiler preferences you may have. We're only a week into the expansion, officially, and there's no shame if you're not far in it or haven't started it yet.

⚔ You are welcome to play characters who are new to Shadowbringers. However, please try to avoid topleveling with icons and descriptions that convey major plot-related spoilers.

If you aren't certain about a character's playability, feel free to PM [personal profile] parser.

post-game spoilers

[The Crystarium's iconic crystal domes, open plazas, winding staircases and meandering skytop pathways were no doubt been designed by a genius architect with an eye for beauty in function. In purpose, the paths provide a way to disperse foot traffic around the city, preventing congestion whether your destination is the Musica Universalis, the stalls of the Mean or the amarokeep's perch.

In practice, however, the layout serves to give newcomers intense doubts in their sense of direction and familiar visitors and residents plenty of out of the way nooks to stop and think.

The balcony above the aetheryte plaza is one such out of the way spot. From here, one can stare out into Lakeland without too much chance of running into another, unless one knows where to look. Or unless one is wearing a white dress which makes her fairly visible from the ground level as she watches the sun dip below the horizon.]

[The Crystal Exarch is on his way back from the gates to Lakeland when a flicker of white in his peripheral vision catches his attention. He pauses a moment and looks up - a task made much easier by the fact that his hood is down (in the days since... everything, he's taken to leaving it down, the time for such secrecy passed). As he walks into the plaza proper, he answers one guard's greeting with one of his own and has a soft smile and a nod for assorted familiar faces he passes. But eventually he makes his way to the stairs up to the balcony. He grips the handrail as he ascends, suppressing a grimace at lingering soreness if he moves wrong; even the Tower can only speed his healing so much.

When he reaches Ryne, he steps up to the railing beside her and leans against it to look out at the twilight with her.]

Enjoying the sunset?

[If Ryne had been less occupied, she would have heard the sandals echoing on metal stairs. As it is, however, she jumps and gasps at the apparently sudden presence beside her.]

Oh! Exarch!

[Her tone turns sheepish as she tears herself away from the horizon and turns to face him.]

I'm so sorry. I must have been too involved in my own thoughts. Um... it is a beautiful sunset, though.

[Although she doesn't quite seem to be looking at it. Even now her attention is slowly drifting back somewhere away from the direction of the setting sun, further south.]
