It's all welcome here! 1. Toplevel your character. Include any details you might think are relevant. Or don't. As always, we're not the cops. 2. Reply to other people's top levels! 3. Have fun! ⚔ Please clearly mark all spoilers in your thread subject lines. Clearly indicate whatever spoiler preferences you may have. We're only a week into the expansion, officially, and there's no shame if you're not far in it or haven't started it yet. ⚔ You are welcome to play characters who are new to Shadowbringers. However, please try to avoid topleveling with icons and descriptions that convey major plot-related spoilers. If you aren't certain about a character's playability, feel free to PM ![]() |

A passing fantasy, nothing more. My fate may yet be here with this city, and I would welcome it. Still, this is a most welcome surprise.
[Flesh and bone fingers reach for the bag and he opens it, the sight winning a smile from him when he sees what it holds. And, as one does with tea leaves, he brings them to his nose to inhale the scent. With it comes a rush of memories from lifetimes past, waking his younger self and a time before he knew what he would become for the Crystal Tower he still called home.]
Ohh, this brings back memories. Though they are alike, the shards of the Source are each their own world, as I am certain you have noticed. The people, the languages, the architecture, the flora and fauna, all of it near enough to be like, yet individual. I have not seen this leaf since I left the Source. This promises to be quite the delight.
[One more smell of it, deep, straight to the bottom of his lungs.] Would you like to share a cup with me?

[Not that she'll judge him, of course. Whatever negative feelings she once had for the Crystal Exarch are now waning; there was a time where she hated him more than anything. She hated him for taking her away from home, for turning her into a sacrificial lamb. Eventually the truth came out, and her tune changed. There is still resentment she holds, the lies sting the most, but at the end of it all, he is a true friend.]
It does make me wonder what the other shards are like. The First certainly has its charms, but I much prefer the Source. The First hasn't quite gotten the hang of Hingan cuisine yet.
[It is the food of her people, after all.]
I would love to share a cup of tea. I'm looking forward for the chance to sit down and catch my breath.

[He gestured to a table nearby and the seats with it, empty but for one end and a few piles of tomes and stacks of parchment he had been perusing.]
Please, make yourself comfortable. This will not take long. [Tea never did. The leaves were brought to a small burner and kettle and he set about making them tea proper. As he did, he thought on her words. He had thought about what he was to do with himself, now that his death was not a guarantee, and had come to the conclusion that if the Ascians still lived and would still try to create a new Rejoining, his powers might yet be needed again. Much as they wouldn't like it, he might need to call them to another star, once he had again placed the Tower upon it. He hoped it wouldn't come to that. But where he had the advantage of foresight before, having lived the tragedy that it brought, he was now blind. Perhaps that was a trick he would only ever be able to pull once.]
[He wouldn't say it outright and cloud the peace that had fallen over them these past few days, or see a return to her ire, but there was always another fight, always another trial for people like the Warrior and the Scions. It was never a matter of if, but when.]
I have wondered that myself, now that I can afford it. Like you, I am from the Source, but from a time that no longer exists. Once the Scions are back safely within their own bodies in their own world, it stands to reason that my work on the First will be done. I should like not to leave this world, these people behind, but one day I may not have the luxury of choice. A bridge to be crossed when the time comes.
