Well, she can't even be angry about that. Especially since it seems to have turned into a lesson. Unfortunately, her body, including her mouth, has always been faster than her brain - or perhaps to be more specific, the two tend to trip over one another without adrenaline to straighten them out.
"I can't be glad to be here?"
It comes out of her mouth before she remembers she's talking to a Scion and she flinches a bit. "Um- that is, I would absolutely be paying more attention if there was any danger!"
"Neither is adventuring," Sayano says without hesitation, now that her "bite" has been accepted. She reaches down to accept the Scion's handshake. Hers is vigorous and energetic, likely to little surprise. "But if I enjoy that in spite of its flaws, I'll surely enjoy this! I look forward to working with you."
She grins brightly. Never mind that she hasn't been formally introduced to anyone otherwise, never mind that she hasn't seen any Scion work firsthand. She is proud to be on board. It's only one step closer to the dream she started adventuring for.
The vigorous handshake does little to perturb Piñara, but it does jostle her a little bit.
"Wonderful. Okay, we have a couple of missions that we can use for assessment, you can take your pick." she brings out a small clipboard with various missives stuck under it's bar.
"How are you with the beast tribes we work closely with? The Ananta are on the hunt for some hunters, and we can help them forage far more ground than they can to further the construction of Castrum Velodyna.
"Or, there's a mission to go to the Mol tribe in Yanxia if that strikes your fancy, The Scions have been helping to get the proper trade routes set up, meaning that we also have to detangle the tribe tensions to get them to co-operate for longer than one month out of the year. Mostly, it's keeping the Dotharls and Magnai apart.
"And - Ah," Her link pearl goes off, and she listens intently for a tick.
"Garlean troops have started a skirmish around the crash site of Omega, Lyse and her troops are going to meet them there."
"Your choice, rookie." She flips through her missives and looks at Sayano.
~adventure~...as soon as you resist the urge to go flipping through the book to find all the endings
There is a moment of frozen hesitation, not unlike the look of a marmot that has just learned it's on a chocobo racetrack. She has never been to any of these sites and has no idea what to expect. She's not even sure how she's going to get there in time to join the fight, not being attuned to any aetheryte even remotely close.
But... there's no chance greater than this. A certain empire has more than a few things to answer for. Her expression becomes something fiercer, and she gives her new mentor a determined nod.
"Okay, we'll Teleport to Gridania, and they'll have the Griffons waiting there for us. This isn't some small skirmish, It seems that there was a scientific expedition dropped a whole ship on top of the iron works by the site."
She's on her way out the door already.
"if there's anything you need before you go, tell me now, else we have some Imperials to shoot!"
Sayano follows shortly behind her, a glance over her shoulder at the Stones as if she could - or would want to - recapture that wonder. But no, she's got something to do now, a mission.
She draws a dagger from her belt, concealed beneath her long haori, as if readying for combat now will make it go any faster. What an excellent first mission, even if she has no idea - aside from the first stop in Gridania, of course - where they're going.
"Believe me, I'm always ready to burn them like the trash they are!"
They took her parents' home from them, and then destroyed it. She had never set foot in Doma, herself, but even without that, she had plenty of reason to despise the Garleans.

"Good, you have some bite to you after all. I was worried that you were simply another gawker come to watch and never help."
"You should know that being here isn't as glamorous as rumours make it sound. But we can use all the help we can get."
"Piñara Conada," She holds out her hand, "I'll be your mentor for the next couple of weeks while Thancred comes back from his mission."
