and love is not a victory march The life of an adventurer — or wandering samurai, or former legatus, or whatever you may be — tends to be a rough one, especially when there are creatures like Morbols out there in the world, ever eager to spray you with Bad Breath and inflict you with a whole host of ailments. On the other hand, said ailments do provide us with the opportunity to be helped and fussed over by well-meaning allies... if your enemies don't find you in a vulnerable position first. It's up to you to decide whether or not these status effects can be cleansed with healing magic or alchemical concoctions, but feel free to take these prompts and run with them in whatever direction you please! 1. BLIND. Your character has been temporarily blinded! ...I mean, assuming they weren't already blind. Looking at you, Scions. The exact nature of this ailment can vary — maybe you got dirt slung in your face by a muddy korpokkur, or some wraith cursed your vision with the darkness of the void — but how will your character navigate the world for the time being, and will your thread partner do anything to help? 2. POISON. There are many kinds of poisons in the world of Eorzea. There's the kind that stacks, the kind that doesn't stack, the kind that can be Esuna'd away, the kind that you can't do anything about because the DPS insists on standing in pools of Goldbile... ah, I kid. In any case, your character has been poisoned! You'd better hope your thread partner has an antidote handy. 3. PARALYSIS. Sometimes you get hit by a nasty blast of lightning-aspected aether... and then the jolts and sparks don't leave your joints for ages. It's difficult to get around when your own body won't heed your movements. Maybe someone's around to lend you a helping hand? 4. SLEEP. Congratulations: you've fallen asleep! Which normally isn't so bad, except it's not great to be asleep if there are slavering beasts just waiting to make a meal out of you. Maybe a Maiden's Kiss will wake you up — oh, wrong fantasy trope. That's to dispel Toad, huh? 5. SEDUCED. You find yourself irresistibly drawn to Ramuh's magnificent beard — er, I mean... Look, some monsters and enemies are possessed of magics so beguiling that you might find yourself utterly distracted even in the middle of battle. Maybe you were bewitched by a passing Succubus, or you ran into that water spirit that's rumored to haunt the Sirensong Sea... or perhaps you've found yourself enchanted by your thread partner? 6. WILDCARD. Did I miss your favorite status effect? Maybe you'd actually like to be a Toad... or one of those river imps that Ultros turns you into? Got a real hankering to play out being Bound or Stunned? Magic Vulnerability Down is just really important to you for some reason?
