As usual, here's a brand-new open post for all of you to post characters, mingle, and tag each other!
Seriously, post whatever you want. Empty toplevels? Open starters? Starters closed to specific people? It's all good — just enjoy! And as always, tag out and have fun!
[ outside of one psl i am still voice testing this charismatic ass and so kinda nervous/awkward turtle about it, but darn it i am determined!!! send a pm if you have any questions or want to run an idea by me! ]
-Something from before he became the Azure Dragoon, when he was just another young man serving in the Temple Knights. Our characters could be fighting side by side, they could be sparring, or maybe they're enjoying a rare moment of rest (good luck getting Estinien to stick around for long, though).
-Missing scenes from ARR or earlier, before he took the Eye and ran with it.
-Post HW, when he's still in the wilds of Coerthas and Dravania, learning how to use his lance to protect man and dragon alike... or something like that. This may or may not involve stabbing dragons who didn't get the memo about peace with Ishgard. Or we can go with something SB flavored, when he's on the hunt for Nidhogg's eyes, taking down Garleans, and/or adventuring out on the Steppes.
-Anything else! If you have any ideas that don't fit neatly here, lay 'em on me, and we can see what works best.]
[ Help me voicetest this awkward nerd! PM to run ideas by, or just show up bleeding on his doorstep idk, I'll roll with whatever. Fully up to date so no worries about spoilers. ]
[Rose had not meant to visit Urianger. In fact, she had tried to avoid it. No matter how much she cared for her friend, the fact remained that he had a tendency to...ramble on. And on. And on. Rose was never much for niceties, and there’s only so long she can last before nodding off or saying something.]
[So she’d passed by his house on the way out of Il Mheg, only to stumble on it again. Thinking she’d taken a wrong turn, she went the other way, only to end up right back where she started. In fact, no matter which way she went, she found herself at Urianger’s doorstop.]
[Bloody fairies.]
[She briefly entertains the idea of waiting the fairies out, before deciding otherwise and knocking on Urianger’s door. At least his lectures only seem endless.]
[ He's not actually used to people knocking - Thancred just walks in like he lives here, and the pixies use the windows as often as not, no matter how he tries to keep them shut. So it takes a moment before the door opens. He smiles brightly when he sees her. ]
My friend! An unexpected visit, indeed. Do come inside - I have just been preparing a midday meal.
[Despite how much she doesn’t want to be here, Rose can’t help but crack a small smile in return. She walks in before taking a seat at a nearby table. There’s no point in waiting to make herself at home.]
Thank you. I hadn’t meant to stop by, but I’m afraid the pixies had other ideas. I can’t seem to find my way out of the area.
[ His expression wilts just a little as he realizes this isn't just a social call, but he bears with it. ] Ah...I'm afraid they are quite fond of that trick, indeed.
Is thy business elsewhere urgent? Negotiating with the pixies becomes much easier if thou art able to neglect their games for a time, as their attention wanes quickly.
[ And he just made lunch. You could stay for lunch at least, right? ]
[ ooc: I have a headcanon that Hen here has a lighthearted rivalry with Alisaie since they're both red mages. ]
[ It's a simple, routine patrol, the sin eater before Hen is blissfully unaware of her presence and Hen grins, rapier at the ready. She can feel the aether humming at her fingertips, in that liminal zone between white and black...
Only for a trio of sword slashes to fell the eater. ]
[Is it her, or does he actually seem upset? Surely, he can’t blame her. Given his tendencies to ramble on, it makes sense she wouldn’t stop just for a social call...]
[...But he’s still her friend, and it has been a long time since they’ve had a chance to bond. A little detour won’t hurt.]
I don’t suppose there’s any harm in staying for awhile. Honestly, I could use a break from all these errands.
[ This is just the third time she's been back today. They're going to be moving out soon, going back to the Crystarium, but night had already fallen and they could all use a good rest. That was the idea; they should be resting. The night sky painted everything dark blue, the stars seeming to glitter with light, and Allumette was not asleep as she should be.
Her chest still ached - she found it a little hard to breathe, in truth, and the white scars that marked its way across her chest were starting to be more prominent - but her attention was far from her physical state. Hesitantly, she touched the painted cave walls again, gaze following the curves of the lines. No one else seemed to have been bothered by this.
Well, aside from the obvious reason to be bothered.
Yet there was something... off. Something that felt wrong, something felt... it was like a nagging feeling in the back of her head, like she left the candles lit or something of the sort. Something had gone unsaid, it felt like.
Still, she sighed deeply. She needed to stop thinking about this, or there would be a fourth time she'd come to this place and have - still - no answers. ]
Staring at you isn't going to do anything, I know. [ Is she... talking to the wall? ] But what other option do I have, here? [ Yeah, she's definitely talking to the wall. She should probably turn in at this point. ] If I was on the Source there would be so many people I could speak to, but here -
[ She stops; one of her ears flick, flick, flicks to the side and she turns her head towards the sound she picked up. ]
I'm armed. [ She's not. ] You'll regret it if you try to creep up on me.
[ He would never blame anyone for having other places than here to be, of course. It's just that he really doesn't get many visitors, and even if he likes living out here, he gets a little lonely. ]
[ Hearing that she's willing to stay for a bit makes his smile light up again, though. ] Ever mayest thou find respite here, my lady. I have little doubt that a brief stay will be enough to deprive the pixies of their entertainment: they will mislike staring at solid walls for long.
[ And with that, he's striding off toward the door to the functional living space areas of the little house. ] Dost thou have a preference in drink? My stock is not so diverse as an inn, but I have my own means.
