"I have... little means with which to travel. And the world is a wide, wide place, filled with danger- and I am not strong as you," he murmurs. "And I suppose, most importantly... there are people I need to protect. Were I to stray... there is danger still looming over them."
He glances away. He can't- well, no, he just doesn't want to explain his shameful past. The way he is in danger still, hunted by a cruel and vengeful man- and how that man still poses a threat to others. He has to keep watch, become stronger.
"Though I do train. I want to become stronger- and once my job is done, I'll be freed."
